We collect information you provide directly: your name, email address, and business name when you create an account. We also collect receipt images and the data extracted from them when you use the scanning feature.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the Service
  • Process receipt images using AI-powered OCR
  • Generate expense reports and tax summaries
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Communicate with you about your account

3. Data Processing

Receipt images are processed using third-party AI services to extract text. The extracted text is then processed to identify receipt data. Images are stored securely and are accessible only to you.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Authentication is handled by Clerk, a trusted identity provider.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the Service:

  • Clerk — authentication
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • AI processing services — receipt text extraction
  • Cloud infrastructure providers — hosting, storage, and database

6. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) and applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data
  • Withdraw consent

You can exercise these rights through the Settings page or by contacting us.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Receipt images and extracted data may be retained in backups for up to 90 days after deletion.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the Service.
